Olive & Henry's Wedding | Summery Garden Party
A summery garden party between the macadamia trees and rose lined chapel. Olive & Henry’s wedding day was one filled with good times, fabulous food, tunes, cocktails and effortless style.
I first officially met Olive in August of 2018 at our Oh Flora Destination Workshop in Montepulciano, Tuscany. She attended as a guest, as well as graciously accepting the role of our model. Before the workshop, I had admired Olive’s gorgeous style on instagram @olivecooke and so, of course, I was thrilled to finally be meeting her in Italy! Fast forward a little while after our trip to Italy, Henry proposed by the sea in beautiful Hawaii.
I was then honoured to be asked to plan and design their day… I knew they both had fabulous taste and understood the value of choosing vendors they love, then having trust in them. (Doing this will bring a stress free planning process and the absolute best work out of vendors). Olive chose the gorgeous little chapel of Christine's Church of the Two Grandfathers, just outside Alstonville in the Byron Bay Hinterland of NSW. The unique and quaint venue choice made for the perfect foundation to begin designing!
Just beside the church lies rows and rows of grand old macadamia trees and just behind, a perfect grassy spot for an all white, open garden tent by @exoticsoirees. Following the dreamy ceremony in the chapel, guests flowed out onto the garden to enjoy cocktails and decadent grazing boards.
We kept things simple and minimal with vintage touches for dining to reflect an effortless and fun afternoon through night celebration. But of course, flowers were the exception! Olive is a big flower lover and so we opted for abundant garden style centrepieces in shades of white and pink to bring nature to the table.
I loved Olive’s vision of petite posies for her and her bridesmaids. We included locally grown lisianthus and cosmos.
We absolutely loved working with the seriously talented Megan Kelly and can’t wait to work with her again next year at our Oh Flora Retreat in Byron Bay. Megan’s love and dedication of capturing couples and celebration is inspiring and we’d recommend her if you’re looking for a wedding or event photographer!
The dress code of “black and white” kept it simple for guests while creating the chicest of garden party vibes!
Unbelievably delicious food by Bruno and team at @terracatering no one makes more gorgeous, authentic italian food in the area. Check out Di Vino in Byron Bay (where Bruno heads up the kitchen).
Is there any other way to serve champagne on a summer afternoon then via a champagne tower? Using vintage coupe glasses, we built this 5 tier tower chapel-side.
