Wildest New Zealand
Wildest in New Zealand shot by photographer Claire Mossong.
Last November Oh Flora ventured into the rolling hills of New Zealand, to the amazing rose farm: Field of Roses. Wildest consisted of a 2:1 workshop where workshop attendees, Katie and Kristin, learned how to create overflowing bouquets, unique centrepieces, and a crafty installation.
Zoe and Tanya met a few years back on Instagram and since, they have bonded over their love of spectacular florals. This relationship provided the perfect opportunity for a truly unique workshop experience; a very special and rare opportunity to learn within an intimate, supported & inspiring environment where the attendees could forage a vast array of fresh florals.
We arrived at this magical, boutique farm Zoe, her mum Sue & her family had built and filled with rows of abundantly blooming garden roses in all the shades you've ever dreamt of. Katie and Kristin were then able to roam freely through the fields, clipping florals for their soon to be centerpieces and bountiful bouquets. We then spent the morning learning and creating with unencumbered freedom. Towards the end of the day, we travelled down the gravel road to a nearby meadow where the sun flooded through the rows of trees. We constructed an arbour without the use of a typical structured arch. The structure (using fencing and building materials) was then filled with foraged greens, lemon branches, and a variety of blushy blooms. We basked in the beauty of the completed installation and headed back to the farm for wine and business Q/A under the foggy sunset.
