Baby Barbariol afternoon ‘Baby Sprinkle’ | Byron Bay

My summery backyard baby sprinkle for our baby boy.

As a second child myself, it always felt odd to me that traditionally we only throw a celebration for the first child… and I mean, any excuse for a relaxed but pretty get together with friends. This time was just the girls, a little flower arranging activity (for the guests not me) and a lunch in the garden.

Knowing I wanted to keep styling simple to minimise arranging and set up time, the tablescape was kept fairly minimal. For the colour and texture palette I loved the idea of “ruffles on ruffles”, shades of blue, green and white with a subtle hint of red and blush.

The idea was to bring in most of the colour palette through tableware and fabrics and keep arrangements breezy and summery with tomatoes, roses, and bougainvillea in small handmade vintage and Oh Flora Store vases. To bring in the “ruffle on ruffle’ look I layered our Oh Flora Plates and some of my collection of shells onto dreamy linen ruffled edge tablecloths by ‘I Love Linen.’

After a rather rushed set up due to an unexpected hospital visit that morning, I was so grateful to have Beatriz Photo and Film capture all the afternoon magic.
